Splurge or Squirrel

Hold that hope...spring is nearly upon us and that means sprucing up oneself. The easiest way to inject a bit of what is to come now is with nail varnish.

It seems the colour of the season is upon us and it is a splurge-tastic Chanel number called Fracas.

At £18 it is a total splurge. But if you'd rather save the pennies then coming in at a marvellous £3.50 is M&S's Limited Collection Polish in Carnation. Three coats of this polish will give you the same deep coral pink glow of Fracas at a fraction of the price. Carnation seems only to be in store at the moment and not online and it may well be that the colour is not part of the new season ones so hurry and get it now before it goes.

UPDATE: I made a mistake the Limited Collection Polish colour is PLASTIC PINK

  1. Gosh - I was just looking at the new Chanel colours today. Wondering about buying Fracas - but though I love the Chanel colours, I find the polish itself often (not always) difficult to put on and all too to easy to chip/wear off.

So will run round to M&S and try the Carnation tester.

    Thanks!

    1. That is the problem with Chanel and I used Limited Collection Polish recently and lasted a week! Got bored of it had to take it off. I'm going to triple check the colour I'm recommending is Carnation as I didn't check the bottle xx

    3. Style - I've tried using Chanel's own basecoat and topcoat from TopShop to no avail. I find that the quality does vary from colour to colour ( or maybe it's from season to season...) Funnily enough today I tested the three new season colours and another, "June". They all went on easily on bare nails in the store, dried quickly (I was out shopping)and are still looking good two hours later. Huh. Will search out seche vite though, thanks for the tip.

    4. Got the correct colour up now - in my defense the local M&S hasn't updated the holder for the Polish collection but I should have checked the pot. Anyway I bought one and it is fab at £3.50

    5. Kate thanks for you update via my blog. (All comments on any subject appreciated btw.) I went to M&S today. Bought a bright reddish/orange cotton jumper in the sale, went to the food hall and then straight home without looking at nail polish - my main reason for going there!

Never mind will check out the Plastic Pink polish asap. Thanks. Cx
