..today I was doing a photo shoot. Although I can imagine if the plan was to do an outside shoot for a late spring campaign it would be frustrating. It is the fact there is such a magical element to early morning light combined with iced trees and snow underfoot. It is perfect snow enough to make everything pretty but not enough to prevent you doing anything.
Why if I were Johnny Boden I'd be calling up my girls and getting then in next season A/W kit and capture them frolicking in the snow....

Winter Wonderland and we're not talking Hyde Park
Door to door I live 15 miles south of Harrods. Guess what, as you stomp through the doors for some Christmas shopping, I'm snowbound and just thinking about digging the car out to get some provisions!

Yesterday I took the garcon and some chums for a walk. The schools are still shut and I'm officially over kids and walks

But he does look cute all wrapped up!
Oh look more snow to the right!

I'm comforting myself with Doris Day as I can't be properly out and about!

Arrival of snow, Valentino & dog
I love it when things happen in threes! My gorgeous, gorgeous skirt arrived last night by my trusty DHL man. It fits (although it is a bit snug) and it is beautiful. I will not enter a long and boring monologue about the quality of the garment but all I will say is, it well worth every penny. One of the best bargains I've ever had.

Then we all woke up to snow, a light smattering but it is still falling. Although in central London it is turning to sleet, in the suburbs it is still proper snowfall.
The petit garcon went straight into full loving the snow mode. He made angels in the playground and was so happy. Kids never tire of snow.

And my third delivery was a dog. A really cute shiatsu called Alfie. We're looking after my in-laws dog whilst they go off to Barbados. Yep, I feel slightly galled.

Although what with my Valentino skirt and a dog I actually think I'm in fashion accessory heaven.

Confusion reigns so off to bed
Sometimes I think not only do people get out of the wrong side of bed but the solar system revolves a different way so your axis is out of step with someone else's axis who say got up before or after you.
This occurs more frequently at this time of year in the Northern Hemisphere due to the short days and the very long nights. In order to avoid these disconnects, clashes and all manner of nonsense it would be better to stay in bed!
Given how cold and how snowy it is, this might not be a bad idea all round. So these are a few sale items to assist a stay in bed. None are romantic, all are for keeping toes and body cosy and warm.

Just add a mug of hot chocolate, some magazines, books and let the world go by.....

Oh the weather outside is frightful...
...let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow! On of my favourite Christmas songs by the composer Jule Styne and lyricist Sammy Cahn in 1945 - also associated with Bruce Willis in Die Hard! Except it isn't Christmas it is February and no sight of wearing a spring summer or tranisition number!
Well I certainly had the die hard attitude this morning as I attempted to get into central London. The news was quite rubbish on the tube and overground info although all the buses had been cancelled plus all the travel info websites had crashed. In fairness every London and South East commuter wanted to know the score and the websites couldn't cope. Anyway it was a great excuse to trundle down to the station in the hope of a train, but it wasn't to be. Although I enjoyed what is usually a solitary experience, with lots of hellos, idle weather/snow related chit chat and general bon ami.
London and the surrounds has ground to a standstill. Only the Victoria line tube is running and ironically the reason there are no trains or tube is the fact the drivers can't get to work!
Hope sets off in a foot of snow...with sturdy hunters wellies

Reality is a handwritten notice on a faded art deco station facade
