Famously Coco Chanel never wore nail polish on her hands - I bet a lot of you didn't know that. I've always found it ironic that Chanel does such a great line in nail varnish and of course I've been very happy to purchase said polish and put it on my finger nails.
Always happy to embrace a trend that saves money- look no nail polish! And no showy off rings.
And it isn't just me...

Will you be embracing the no nail polish, no bling hands option?
This is one trend bandwagon I will not be jumping on. I'm always looking down at my hands and my shoes, so I need them to be Fancy!
ReplyDeleteI like nude nails, but with a nude look polish on them, Chanel Sahara Beige is my favourite though now discontinued, but my first ever eBay buy was a bottle of this for £6.50 so I was thrilled and encouraged to sell my own beige mistakes. Re the press photo, is it SJP? The hands could belong to Mick Jagger - looks like acromegaly to me!!
ReplyDeleteI like this trend. I tend to leave mine natural, bar perhaps some clear varnish for shine. And as for rings, wedding + engagement and that's it. I do like colour for special occasions but it's too much work for me so this suits my lazy side very well!
ReplyDeleteI am doing it right now, I call it 'I cant be arsed chic' ;) sure it will pass once the new Chanel blues come out this week lol x
ReplyDeleteI have nekkid nails right now because I am in the midst of DIY: usually whatever the current fashion I have always had OTT nail art (oh yes, the less 'tasteful' the better) as part of my style and intend to carry on!
ReplyDeleteRings though - I rarely wear them in the day (bar my wedding bling).
Hi there!! yes, as we speak I'm doing the no nail polish, no bling ring look-totally naked!! xx
ReplyDeleteI knew Chanel never wore nail polish, she considered it "common", didn't she? Silly woman.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind a day of so with in-yer-face nails but I couldn't leave the house without my armoury of rings. x
I don't usually wear nail polish but lately have been wearing clear polish. Testing the waters :).
ReplyDeleteWell you and I are trendsetter here - gave up wearing nail polish 5 years ago, still buy it but never have time to do my nails! 4 year old gets to use my Chanel stuff all the time...something not quite right here
ReplyDeleteI've prefer chipped nail polish, no rings.
ReplyDeleteI often have bare nails as stupid people turn up for mani's and pedi's with nail polish on and mine comes off when I remove theirs.
ReplyDeleteI mostly have bare finger nails. Too much like hard work to keep varnish looking nice and unchipped! I'm not giving up my rings though. I like a good blingy ring.
ReplyDeleteI'm very against a no-ring look!
