Oh holy mess now JPG does it to me!

I'm lost for words. I can't talk about it. I love JPG and his collections, his work for Hermes and his film costumes. I share his love of stripes and Spanish influence in costume/style.

Now I'm crying again over the hot mess that was his show. I don't care about the size issue nor the notion that the collection gets distilled down from the performance. I just plain disliked it.

I will never feel the love for Doc Martens or look a likes and quasi layering is wrong for a show/collection, it seems pretend work.

  1. The first thing I thought when seeing these pictures: Joan Jett and Hally Barrie had a baby.

  3. I am howling at Bel's comment! This is truly terrible. And I don't think this is where they're going when they say "enfant terrible" :-)

  4. How did the powers that be at Hermes ever consider JPG for their designer?
As a designer he is many things, but not he's not Hermes.

  6. I normally love Gaultier (and unlike you, I adore Doc Martens/similar shoes, and I loved the ones at Yohji) but honestly, this is not one of his best collections. I can't even see how it could break down into wearability.

Belle de Ville: consider this- before Gaultier, Hermes's designer-in-chief was Martin Margiela! Fashion makes strange bedfellows out of some people indeed.
