A Modal of Madness

Here am I wrapped in my 90% modal and 10% cashmere Dianora Salviati scarf. It is from her Venticinque range and was a gift for me from a client. Mine was from Liberty but the scarves are also available online at Matches

The reason I love Salviati's work is the use of traditional skills, the scarves are made on looms but combined with digital technology to create exciting prints.

I love traditional ways of working and buy all my blankets and rugs from the still working woollen mills of Wales but of course Welsh mills and their products never achieve the accolades such as this on from The New York Times bestowed upon Salviati 'the ultimate in hushed status symbol'.

Which puts this post in the context of bragging!

  1. Dear Kate, wow! That's amazing! I love the colours. I wear tons of modal, it's one of my favourite fabrics. It's made of bamboo. I've converted The Actor too. He loves his bamboo socks and Calvin Klein pyjama bottoms, it washes well too.

Is this the same as your scarf? Yours looks massive or is this just rolled up? xx

  7. Since "stunning" is the only word to use, I'll echo everyone else: stunning! No wonder you're bragging. You should. Three cheers for you for supporting the old arts and their use in the new ones.

  13. Brag to your heart's content! That scarf is stunning and if I had the money I would snap up half a dozen simply because they're made by crafts people. Well done on supporting your local industries:))
