I've been flat out with deadlines and have lived in a pair of jeans, a thick jumper over a vest and a pashmina wrapped round my neck. We got the gas and electricity bills this week and I've gone cold turkey on the heating during the day as I tip tap on my laptop. I truly wish I could rise phoenix like in a stylish manner as any one of these favourites of mine!
Ali McGraw's headscarf is fabulous. I'm feeling a lot like the top picture after a day of housework (but swap the fag for a rum and coke). xxx
ReplyDeleteHi there-oh yes, to dress in these decadent and chic ways, but this weather enforces layers upon us, lol!! I got the samples my dear, so will start using them, thanks very much! xx
ReplyDeleteYup Ali for me too huge Ali fan xx
ReplyDeleteI think we're in the exact same outfit then, except I've got a shirt on as well as the vest and jumper! Work is very cold, brrrrr.
ReplyDeleteI would very much like to be able to wear headscarves that effortlessly. Sadly I look more like Nora Batty when I attempt it.
If anyone ever manages to invent something warm that doesn't make one feel like the side of a house...well, I'll be very impressed.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you look super stylish in your blanket and fingerless gloves! xx
ReplyDeleteDear Kate, love all the pictures and all those girls. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteI have been caning the heating recently. I'm currently wearing a long white Victorian style nightie a la Emily Bronte with a pair of Uggs. I look delightful. Not. xx
I never see our bills, we have direct debit and one of my housemates always sorts it out. So that's why I can have a clear conscience when heating (though we never heat much, because we are all very skint!) I always admire people who can look absolutely impeccable when they're busy because when I've got deadlines and all I sometimes even forget to wash my hair (gross I KNOW!) :P
ReplyDeleteI'm with Vix and Ruby, Ali all the way. I wear nothing but my bath robe and ugg boots at home nowadays, both are so warm I don't need the heating on for too long. It is a bit clobby though! x
ReplyDeleteI wanna look like this too! Any of them.
ReplyDeleteAli x
I can't live without heat! And don't have too since NYC apartment buildings are notoriously hotter than hell!
ReplyDeleteLong skirts and boots with sweaters and scarves are keeping my heating bills down just now. Head gear would help as well, but I haven't been able to bring myself to wear a hat around the house...
ReplyDeleteC'mon Kate, get yourself a snuggy, live a little!
ReplyDeleteWell honestly, who wouldn't want to look like one of the fabulous style icons - all gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI tried cold turkey with the heating (oil up here in Wales)and even when I am layered up to the nines (as opposed to dressed up to the nines) my nose is always freezing, so I have relented and the heat is on when it's needed. Not sure whether Marilyn or Grace - but in any case I need to get out of joggers, fleece and Uggs asap x
ReplyDeleteMe Too!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBut my self-esteem is very low right now......
Hope you're having a fantastic weekend, dear
xoxo
Effortless style eludes me too - how do they do it???
