Since I've already posted about the merits of a pair of flared jeans in one's wardrobe already, this week's high street pick of the week is a bit of a rehash. But a worthy one.
As I rightly identified the high street is embracing the 70s with love and flare *ahem*.
Reiss is no exception and the aptly named 1971 range yields the obviously named Birkin high waist kick flare for £89. The colour quality and cut is so good Ms Olivia Palermo popped in this week to Reiss's flagship London store for her pair (and no she didn't pay for them, allegedly).
The Birkin comes in the indigo, a wonderful 70s blue and a gorgeous camel coloured version which I'm rather partial to because it says Farah Fawcett Major more than Jane Birkin, get those rollers heating up now and a pristine white shirt!
Hi my dear-love the colour and cut on these!! xx
ReplyDeleteDeep indigo is my favourite shade of denim - these are beautiful:))
ReplyDeleteAll this 70's styling is scary! I'm not convinced I will suit these at all but just for you, I will try a pair on and report back. Maybe if I wear the new platforms...
ReplyDeleteI have just made a mental note to myself that I NEED to buy some high waisted jeans, probably black :)
ReplyDeleteI am sorely tempted, but a wee bit concerned this style won't suit my bootylicious thighs. Already have been thinking about this exact pair of jeans in the mid-blue! xx
ReplyDeleteReiss denim always looks so classy. The cut of those jeans is just perfect at the top but I prefer much wider hems. xxx
ReplyDeleteI adore the 70s look!
ReplyDeleteAlready have a very wide bellbottom pair in faded pale denim and a dark, skinny-flare pair. But as I do have many, many pairs of jeans I may add another to my collection!
I am so glad that you advised me to keep all my flared jeans as i think that this is definitely the look for summer xx these are perfect btw xx
ReplyDeleteGreat post, you've inspired me to look at creating a spring outfit with a pair of indigo flares that I hardly wear, thanks xx
ReplyDeleteFlares have a cut that flatters any shape, I guess.
ReplyDeleteThese are very nice!!
Hope you're having a nice weekend, dear.
xoxo
The flare I don't mind...it's that high waist that is just too Charlie's Angels for me. I didn't look good in that style the first time around.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely in the market for a pair of flared jeans. These look great especially since they're high waisted, the rise is sure to be long enough. I will have to see where I can find them here.
ReplyDeleteI'm not loving the look of them around the waist, but I like how they look below the knee. They probably look much better on though, it's always so hard to judge denim by a picture I find.
ReplyDeleteI have the absolute perfect pair, which came from Primark back in the days you could buy something and it not fall to pieces. I wish they would bloody well fasten up!!
ReplyDeleteI got an email about these and must say, I really like them.
ReplyDeleteThese are tres Farrah Fawcett x
