And the difference is

Following on from my post yesterday and the comments received about Stella McCartney, of which the funniest and actually turns out the most insightful was one from Pearl of Fashion Pearls of Wisdom - who actually stated "cut the crap Stella they are the same as shoes from New Look, I have ordered and returned a couple of pairs of Stella shoes as they really aren't well made IMO."

Here we have a New Look shoe and a Stella McCartney shoe. I'm not going to make you guess which is which. The fact of the matter is Stella is £365 and New Look is £25. It depends how much you are prepared to pay for label/aesthetics etc. I have to say I'm rather taken with the New Look ones although I probably couldn't walk in either.

  3. AH ha ha ha, see I told you! I also forgot to mention how insanely uncomfortable they were. I will take New Look any day. I do like Stella's designs but she needs to up the shoe quality, I actually read an interview where she said her shoes actually cost more to produce as she doesn't use leather, so either shes a great big fibber or being seriously ripped off by her manufacturer!
I wonder has any one seen one of her bags in real life, whats their quality?

  4. The new look are much prettier, but I don't wear plastic shoes. Stella is the Emperess with no clothes IMO. Boring as batshit. Synthetic Batshit at that. All cows dream of being Louboutins when they grow up xx

  5. I have a pair of (second-hand) Stella, and they do actually look fantastic. I call them my witch shoes. I have to say I stopped buying New Look shoes a while ago because they just fall apart too quickly - but if I was forced to choose I would still go for them due to budgetary constraints!

  6. I prefer the New Look ones. But then I am a poor person who can't even dream of spending £300+ on a pair of shoes so the high street version will almost always have to do for me.

  7. Oddly, aesthetically I prefer the New Look ones. But then I'm not particularly a fan of pointy toes. But I would never dream of spending £300 for shoes, I can't afford it!

  8. I've never worn (or owned) a pair of Stella shoes so I have no idea if the quality sucks or not. What I do know is New Look shoes are bloody painful, so you'd be better off not buying either.

  9. I've always found Stella very uncomfortable and yeah, I'm not spending that much money for non-leather shoes. But I don't like cheap crappy shoes either. I'll stick with Prada, thanks.

  10. Wow, this conversation will have me steering clear of Ms. McCartney's footwear forever!

  11. To be honest I'm not keen on either. I have a mortal fear of pointy-toe shoes and although the New Look ones look nice they always seem horrid in reality.
I'll be sticking to my TopShop shoes! xxx

  15. I prefer the New Look pair. I'm with Vintage Vixen... a lot of cheap shoes look terribe close up. Stick to fewer pairs of Prada! xx

  16. I'm a Stella girl through and through, if I could wear just one label head to toe it would be hers, BUT to pay that much money for plastic shoes and accessies is NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No thanks Stella.
