I'm trying to ignore the slowly brewing Prada fashion fix of big stripes. I love Prada and whilst the catwalk collection was not to my taste I can see how the effect is trickling down and the execution from catwalk to shop floor looks different when you can put your own spin on it.
Love it or hate it (I did at first but am now leaning more to the accepting!) big stripes are going to get ya! I like the pink and orange number below once you minus the hair, make up and freaky accessory thing.
What do you think and are you going to pair your big striped number with a sombrero!
I am a bit confused about what the accesory things are supposed to be?? I do love both dresses though.
ReplyDeleteHi there-love the big stripes- I may invest in a tote bag for this look rather than in an outfit! xx
ReplyDeleteI like the orange dress. I think the accessory is some form of furry snake, I could work with that.
ReplyDeleteStill not convinced by the big stripes... oh well, they'll be all over the place come summer so I won't be able to escape. I might go for a shoe or a bag. Head to toe in stripy orange, I'd look like an oompa-loompa.
ReplyDeleteWhat, you mean you don't automatically chuck on a sombrero and a furry monster when you walk out of the door? For shame Kate!
ReplyDeleteI actually rather like that second dress. Not convinced it's a trend that will work on my figure at all (I tried on a River Island thick striped maxi this year and looked AWFUL) but I do still quite like it.
I love the top one, the colour combination is so sixties-inspired and fun. What's the blue-clad model carrying? It looks like roadkill. xxx
ReplyDeleteI love stripes and am so glad they're going to be big in the spring. Must be my Marimekko heritage, but I think stripes rock!
ReplyDeleteHelena xx
Oh yes, sombrero is the way to go! ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a turn-around ;)
ReplyDeleteI think these are fun, but I won't be wearing The Big Stripe.
ReplyDeleteAh I see what you mean, Fab has just posted about stripes too, definately new season filtering in!
ReplyDeleteI picked up a lovely striped vintage dress which I look forward to wearing, I love the striped fabrics but not really into the Prada designs. Mind you I must get myself one of those door draght excluders how useful!
Wow, i can see many uses for the freaky accessory thing, particularly in a household with cats and a baby. But no sombrero, thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with stripes!!!! In anything :)

For some reason, I can never say no to stripes in my wardrobe. Personally, I'd reach for more classic color combinations.

I do love pink and orange together!
ReplyDeleteDear Kate, I love pink and orange together too. This collection didn't do it for me at all. You're right, it's much better if you block out the hair and make up xx
ReplyDeleteAhhhh Prada SS/11! We called in the sombrero the other week at work and I walked round all day wearing it!! xx
ReplyDeletefun and bold. I likey!
