3 little pots of joy

Why Chanel nail varnish completes me is an answer I will never fathom. Believe me I've tried to love the others. I can recommend Essie, Opi and a few others. I was supplied with a lovely selection of Essie by their nice PR company when I was using clothes from one of their other clients for a shoot. Essie applies and stays on well and I can't fault it. But Chanel nail varnish is my weakness. I love the box, the pot and the colours. I was bereft when they stopped Paparazzi and wish they would bring it back.

I buy all my toiletries and useful things in Boots to get the points on their reward card which helps my nail varnish fix. At £16.50 Chanel's little pots of colour aren't cheap but they dress up a look in an easy way. Oh and I love the names, well nearly all of them.

This week saw the introduction of three new summer colours, Mistral, Riviera and Nouvelle Vague. I would have bought all three if I hadn't got Orange Fizz earlier in the week, plus I have my eye on Dragon and Intermezzo - is there a Chanel nail varnish self help group?

  1. Not sure but if you find one, please let me know, as I need to break the winter rouge noir obsession I have had since its release and that was way before I had little man. Just how long has that colour been around?

  3. No... there is no cure! After securing Particuliere and Black Satin I am well and truly addicted and not checking into rehab anytime soon! x

  5. Much as I love the colours - I urgently need advice about using Chanel which I find very 'gloopy' and difficult to apply. Also it peels off my fingernails quite quickly, even when using a base coat. I too love Chanel quality and packaging (incl their lipsticks - yum). I think Orange Fizz would add just the right summery note to my SS10 coral, green and neutral outfits.(And BTW Debenhams which is my nearest Chanel stockist has another 10% off promotion this week.)Help!

  6. elegancemaison - I keep mine in the fridge and find them fine. I don't use a Chanel base coat, I use Barielle either the nail builder or one of their other base coats.

  8. No, can't go wrong with Chanel nail varnish. I'm conservative and stick to red though.

  9. Love Riviera! and very exciting to see Orange Fizz. I need to update my colours, currently am just base coat with no colour as I find it all chips so quickly but might now be the time to venture out, to Chanel!

  16. They truly have it going on! And I just saw your little comment about Twiglets on Lisa's blog. DON"T give it another thought. One day, when I least expect it, I will get a fun parcel. Till then, you're saving my waistline :-)

PS: Didn't buy myself anything in America!? (Did buy for others but that doesn't count.)

  17. Are Chanel colours rich in pigment? Do you get a decent depth with a single coat? I hate nail polishes that are all watery on the first coat and only come to life after the second one.

  18. Queen Michelle - I find they are a good hit with one coat but always top up during the week

  19. Oh I am a total addict!!! Just got back from Florida to find my Nouvelle Vague waiting, it will be hard to ween myself of the Particuliere tho! I like to used 2-3 coats to get a really intense colour, and when you get to the gloopy bit at the bottom two drops of nail polish remover thins it out perfectly. I never bother with base but their top coat is super shiney and long lasting.
