To Beard or not to beard

The beard is enjoying something of a renaissance and a bearded Beckham arriving at Heathrow the other day for the England international football match is evidence of this sartorial shift. One of my tutors at LCF has gone for the growth and we couldn't decide if his look coupled with his hair was that of the authoritative bohemian or Frank Gallagher from Shameless! This was with my lovely tutor and the equally lovely course director, not behind his back!

Are you for the beard or do think it is a romanticised return to Victorian times we could do without?

  2. I think beards look good - but prefer clean-shaven for close encounters! Mr TNMA is always fluff-free. I like Beckham but not sure about the beard, maybe it just needs a trim..

  3. I'm in the middle with this one - I like a bit of stubble more than I like my man cleanly shaven, but I find full on beards a real turn off.

  4. I came across Beckham's new beard the other day when my boyfriend was watching a game on TV... not a fan!

  5. I'm with the readers who like a little scruff--but I can't bear a beard!

  6. I don't think becks' beard is 'posh' approved... surely not?
I'm with everyone else also, a bit of growth looks attractive but no so much close up, would need to be clean shaven, I wouldn't be able to smooch a beardy person!

  9. Hmmm... It's romantic in some kind of way, especially for a guy like Beckham. But for a guy like my hubby, it's just lazy... (LOL)

It's cool though, as long as the man smells really good (like hubby, too)! :)

  10. I like it, and that's saying something. I usually don't.

  11. It seems distinguished to me--I saw, if you have the face for it, do it. Sometimes it can square an otherwise weak jaw. But maybe I've inherited beard-idolatry from my man, since he can't grow one and has always wanted one!

  12. I don't know what's wrong with me but these days a beard makes me act like a cat in heat.

  13. I like the beard!

I think my upbringing among hippies must have made me more beard-friendly than the average girl.
