Old red legs

Yesterday I was teaching and since I talk about colour and blather on about primary, secondary and complimentary colours as well as light reflection and refraction, I always make sure I wear a bit of colour. But, I'm having a complete graphic moment with my love of black and white and only want to wear a black or white palette. When I'm wearing neutrals I make sure I put colour elsewhere.

Earlier in the week I picked up a dress in Gap for £9.99 and decided to wear it yesterday with my red tights which I bought two years ago and wore a lot but then have left them alone. I've included a photo someone took of me in Feb 2010 at my MA showcase evening. I'm on the phone, it is tucked in between my right shoulder and ear and putting some things out, which explains my stance.

Then here I am yesterday morning before going off to work. Please note the non Agent Provocateur mules in the background as pointed out to me by teawithonesugarplease on twitter!

  3. Yum, what a great rich red. I can't remember where I bought my red tights from but the colour faded out horribly. John Lewis for me next time! xx

  4. Superb, love coloured tights. I like to brighten neautrals with a colour- tights, scarf, bag... but I am a bit of a monochrome addict at times!

  14. Well you know what I think of this lovely ensemble! That red is stunning, and definitely inspires me to milk the coloured tights look while it's still a bit nippy out! x

  15. Last year, a college student wrote a newspaper story for her Creative Nonfiction class on the nonprofit social service agency where I am employed. It turns out that creative nonfiction means that the author has a snarky, supercilious voice, ridiculing everyone in the story. And what did she choose to make fun of me? I am a grandmother and I wear colorful tights. I've had many people tell me 'I love your style and your tights! how dare she?' So, thank you for your post. It is most appreciated. I can smugly sneer at her now.
