Prada - I died!

Funny how the last Prada show felt a bit of a let down. Now the dust has settled, I can appreciate it for its influence I knew it would provide is for all to see on the high street.
This spring summer Prada collection will not be one I coveted but there are some nice touches to admire especially the shoes.

The recent A/W 11 collection was a different matter. Pure spectacle and pure admiration for the design of the collection, the styling, the setting and the show. It was slightly annoying it was so late for those sat there I'm sure but it was well worth waiting for. Miuccia reworked her favourite aesthetics the sock became part of the shoe to make a boot, the early sixties was reworked with new materials and colour ways but with some nod to her idol Yves Saint Laurent.

Equally the femininity was coltish, a liberating view of womanhood with out the need for overt sexualisation. I didn't like the use of snakeskin as print as I loathe snakes but you can't have everything! It felt light and refreshing even with the inclusion of a beautiful red dress. Ah, all is well with my world again when Miuccia is on top form!

my favourite

Sublime & beautiful

If only I had the funds!!

  4. Only looking at the pics I wasn't sure at first, having an aversion to all things Prada. But this collection grew on me, had to keep looking and looking. Curiously fetching and beguiling. I hope the blue furry thingy is a fake furry thingy, because it is beaut!

  5. I don't like any of it! Well, perhaps the blue fake fur thing, but that would make me look like I was being strangled by a fluffy beast, so probably best avoided...

  12. The thing with Prada they either have lots of winners in the collection or none at all until the next collection. She's tapped into something here but in mind's eye not her best work to date.

  13. The last dress is my favorite. But then, I'm so predictable and boring that I would choose to like the safest of the lot.

  14. That dress was my favourite, too! The colours, the sequins, the faux fur collar... I have to say, I wasn't keen on the snakeskin, either - quite tacky! Was it Vogue.com that criticised the way the models held their bags? Seems a bit nit-picky to me... x
