Time for a change...

Which is not a euphemism for no more blogging...it's just I've had a re branding thought.
I'm all for new styling and new ways so my thinking is I need to ditch the mend bit of make do.

Now, a while ago I was ahead of the game but with all this recession based quick journalism filling the column inches I want to refine my sphere of interest. Also I'm not nor have I ever been stuck in a 1940s time warp. Whilst I believe the resourcefulness shown is exemplary and many could do with learning some of the old ways skills, this blog is all about now (and me!)

I'm thinking of using the url name 'make do style' as the blog name proper and comment name. Not much of a departure but a timely shift methinks et vous??

  1. I like it. There is nothing 1940's about you. You, Make do, are timeless.:-)

  2. Oh, wow. I always interpreted your blog name as Make, Do, and Mend. Interesting that it's Make do and Mend. Subtle difference but different nonetheless. I think the new name is good, btw...

  4. I'm not getting the meaning of Make do and Mend, being a no English spoken and why 1940.

Anyway I think you should blog about what's your interestes, if you don't feel comfortable with this concept I say go for what you like.

    "Make Do Style" is cool.

  5. I love the name "Made Do and Mend." When I came across your blog I immediately recognized the WWI era reference and was a bit puzzled that you were not more retro. I think "Make Do Style" does represent your blog and focus a little better. No matter what you call it, I will remain a faithful reader.

  8. Make Do Style is good I think. You'll probably get more traffic for Make Do & Mend as I guess some people would Google that but then, they won't stick around if they don't see tips on how to make curtains! Lovely to meet you last night BTW!

  10. Great idea, I always loved MD&M, but Make Do Style incorporates the 2 sides of what you do and it's good to move with the times and keep ahead of the game.

Moving to a new blog host 'Typepad' and will have a domain name...with .com

Not sure wheather I should stick to the same blog name or change to 'The Fashion Assistant'

  12. Congratulations on the new name - I like it!

Not sure how I feel about the black background, but I think a bit of re-invention can be a very fine idea indeed.
