One of my favourite blogs (you know I love ya all) is the Cherry Blossom Girl. About a week ago she posted a piece about Margot Tenenbaum a character from the file The Royal Tenenbaums, a very funny Wes Anderson number.
I loved the post mainly because I realised I was Margot Tenenbaum, well obviously not completely Margot but put together my top three clothing loves, stripes, faux fur and loafers and well I might as well be.
In fact these little beauts of a tasseled loafer are my fav shoe this season, now all I need is £125!
Not for everyone I know, those who love a taser heel or any heel full stop. But who have you stumbled across recently that fits your bill?
the Royal is one of my favorite movies ever! amazing wardrobe, story and pictures.
ReplyDeleteNice blog! I'll visit often!

I search and I search for the perfect shoe but alas, like a good hairdresser they remain elusive.
ReplyDeleteHi there-I remember when these tasseled loafers were all the rage at secondary school, I had a pair in burgundy and really loved them! These look like they will last years and years, so a good investment buy at least!
ReplyDeleteI love Wes Anderson films and The Royal Tenenbaums is just fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI've only ever owned one pair of loafers and they were purple suede - in my defense, it was the 80's!
I saw that post, too, and now I'm looking for an identical Margot T coat! Margot's one of my style heroes. Perfect 60s bob, eye make-up and wardrobe. Swoon!
ReplyDeleteI keep on finding things that fit my bill. I have to weed things out!
ReplyDeleteThese are superb, Kate. They mean something special to me, as I grew up surrounded by shoes like these.
I am always floored by women who can rock a loafer. This style of shoe repels me, but I've seen it worn stylishly again and again. Hope you can nab this pair, and prove to me, yet again, that tasseled loafers aren't the exclusive domain of grandpas.
ReplyDeleteI know that those are THE shoes of my moment but I just can't bring myself to like them.
ReplyDeleteI really like these shoes a lot! They are cool!

Whoa, them's some pretty pricey loafers. Nice though!
ReplyDeleteWell, I admire women that can pull of loafers, because I can't.
ReplyDeleteThose are pretty.

I love that movie--and I love-love-love the decor and clothes in that movie. Really, the clothes and the visuals make it. Wes Anderson understands the importance of wardrobe.
ReplyDeletewhat great style in that film. i'm more of a penny loafer girl, but i wouldn't kick a tassel out of bed.
ReplyDeletethose shoes are great! pricey though!!!
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, I've never seen that movie!
ReplyDeleteI 'd love the loafers, thank you! No they are not easy to find these days..
ReplyDeleteThese fall into the ironic ugly shoe category..I get it!
ReplyDeleteI may have been asleep at the wheel but that doesn't mean I haven't being paying attention :)
