Technically I had my Vogue subscription as a Christmas present, my newest charm, a starfish, was a prize (courtesy of Tor's Aussie comp on Fabfrocks) and the Chanel nail varnish 505 Particulière is as a result of points makes prizes (Boots Advantage card).
However I've decided that I have acquired these items, I'm above the how I got them for once! What with the flipping cold I'm treasuring anything that doesn't require venturing outside. Shame I've got an editorial meeting later...
My favourite thing in the March edition - Christa D'Souza's article on poo.
You are doing so well - no way could I avoid making purchases - keep it up nearly halfway there - well ok you've still got two months to go!
ReplyDeleteLove my vogue subscription its a gift a month, I must read the article you are talking about have just been looking at the pictures so far. x
ReplyDeleteHi there-well done on getting the varnish on your Boots points, I should really start collecting, thats a massive incentive!!
ReplyDeleteWell done on the nail polish, I can't get one anyway, will end up spending a fortune on ebay no doubt. Hubby refused to go up "West" for it!
ReplyDeleteteawithonesugar - I'm wavering badly at the moment over a jacket in Zara of all things. I will get through it somehow.
ReplyDeleteWildernesschic - It is a good issue, think it is getting better again although I still dislike the stupid Miss V to Editor thing.
Sharon-Rose - my Boots Advantage card is brilliant. I do most of toiletries buys with it and it soon adds up. Worth getting one.
Mrs Fab - honestly I just popped into boots in Kingston and saw the counter display and asked for it. I hadn't even gone in there for one. Mr MDS required moisturiser!
One of these fabulous Chanel nail colours is definitely in the pipeline (ideally plus a new lipstick shade). March Vogue's waiting for me on my desk...
ReplyDelete... or am I counter productive, i.e. too materialistic here?
ReplyDeleteSabine - nail varnish is a nice way to update your look without compromising on taste and style! Or in my case expending any real money.
ReplyDeleteI am impressed. Great to be back too.
ReplyDeleteThere is someone I want you to meet. Go here

Hammie - thanks for that read it and made perfect sense!
ReplyDeleteAn article on poo? That would make it worth buying Advert Monthly...I mean, Vogue for once.
ReplyDeleteThe boots in Kingston? Ha. That brings back memories of going in there to buy a swishy perfume using advantage card points once. I had been saving up for AGES. The assistant lady was all over me, opening the cabinets and being 'helpful' (even though I knew exactly what I wanted) and then as soon as I brandished my card...she looked like a bit of poo had suddenly appeared under her nose and huffed and puffed her way through the transaction at the till.
Hilarious.
Wait. There's an article on poo? OK, I've got to get that issue. xx
ReplyDeleteI'm just marvelling over the fact that Boots sells Chanel varnish, if I've understood you correctly! It certainly didn't when I was growing up . . .
ReplyDeleteI broke and went shopping yesterday. I'm not impressed by much on the high street at the moment - it's all the same stuff as last year and the year before that... boring! - but I had been yearning for some geek glasses and I hadn't done any shopping for a while so I reasoned I owed myself a treat. Got the glasses -two pairs in black and brown - £6 at Bik Bok and a couple of cheap tees in the Zara sales. Well within my £50 budget. Zara did have these amazing tan wedge peeptoe booties. I would've bought them if they'd had my size, which would've blown my budget sky high. But I wouldn't have cared. They were gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteVogue is my Bible.

ReplyDeleteohh,chanel!great buy
ReplyDeleteLOVE! Chanel nails!!
ReplyDeleteMake Do- I will not get this UK Vogue for another month and it will cost $20 that's right $20!!!! Foreign mags are really spensive here in Australia for some reason and they arrive a month late too. I broke my shopping ban but I think you'll like my dress, it's this nice colour called "grape" and has a sort of 1930s vibe, I've done a link on my blog (which turns 2 months old tomorrow!).
ReplyDeleteThat nail varnish is gorgeous! xxx
