What would Andy say? Fashion Forum Fortnight
One of my most favourite quotes from Andy Warhol was the fact he said he 'attend the opening of a lavatory seat'. Of course he is most famous for his 15 mins of fame pronouncement. I really wish he was here today to deliver some pronouncement on blogging.
I have an unfair advantage as I've studied and studied and lived and breathed Andy Warhol. But this is my stabbed at what he would say....
'Does anyone care? Does it involve sex other than just the media lot.'
Andy was nothing if not commercial and until he was shot he took risks.
What do you think he would say about fashion blogging or just blogging?

Andy would think we are all looking for our 15 mins..but I would have loved to read his blog xx
ReplyDeleteHe'd like it.
ReplyDeleteMy friend says her friend X would "go to the opening of a door" which always makes me laugh.
I don't know what he'd say (fellow Warhol fan here) but I know he'd be doing it.
ReplyDeleteHave you even seen the footage of when he said the infamous 15 min quote? - he's just talking shit to the interviewer and smirking to Fred and accidentally creates one of the most iconic sayings ever. Love that man.
I like to think Andy we be a blogger too. Or he'd be on Twitter at the very least.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Andy would be a blogger - too busy partying to write. He would definitely be on twitter though, gossiping about his famous friends.
ReplyDeleteHe would have definitely blogged. And it would have been fabulous. He loved cataloging and collecting and making connections and he could have shared his collections on his blogs. Oh, and, he would have been a big Tweeter.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Belette. He would have been a tweeter.
ReplyDeleteI loved when he reversed his famous 15 minutes line: http://wendybrandes.com/blog/2007/11/fame-clock-is-ticking/
ReplyDeleteNot sure what he'd say but perhaps he could've filmed us all blogging and called it art!
ReplyDeleteHmm I have no idea, I would love to have seen his reaction to getting papped though! I like Thats not my age's comment! Really, really loving these debates Kate x
ReplyDeleteI think he'd have been in the forefront.
ReplyDeleteBTW, we visited the Andy Warhol Museum last weekend while visiting Pittsburgh. If you're ever in that part of the world, definitely worth a visit!
I think the shallowness and vapidness would have shocked even Andy himself.
