A lesson in over doing it
It is really important to be a weight that suits you, in terms of health and how you feel. But then body discipline can go too far. I'm sorry but this photo of Madonna in London scared me. I'm always one for wanting to lose a few pounds be more toned but after seeing this in the Daily Mail, I rushed straight for my Nigella 'How to be a domestic goddess' Lawson recipe book and made two batches of fairy cakes!
PS Update to post: I've added a photo of my cake baking in case anyone thought I merely mentioned my fairy cake making for dramatic affect!

Who's got the time to create arms like that? A mother of three? Not this one.
ReplyDeleteit looks disgusting with all the fats gone.

Wow, that's a shocker! There is literally not an ounce of fat on those arms. Way too many body pump classes me thinks!
ReplyDeleteTessa - Her body discipline thing is out of proportion! What else can you do when you've got 'people' to do everything else, cook, clean, sew blah...
ReplyDeleteKit - it is so yukky! Now we know fat is good!!
DInds (Judith) and the rest! mind you when I went for a swim today there was a woman in the locker room who was a bit like madonna and it is really gross. I want tone and definition but really plumpness of skin is better.
I wonder if it's a kind of body dysmorphic disorder? Regardless, it certainly ain't sexy.
ReplyDeleteThose fairy cakes look utterly scrumptious!!!
Hi there-thumbs down for Madonna arms and a big thumbs up for those delicious cakes!!!
ReplyDeleteoooh yummy cupcakes! I don't like madge's arms but I do admire her discipline - i just whinge about being fat whilst my gym membership card gathers dust in my wallet!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI think you are right...we can't be too thin when we age a bit...
ReplyDeleteThat photo scared the bejeezus out of me. Yoiks.
ReplyDeleteOoooh. I think I need a fairy cake just to recover from seeing that photo.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that really is unattractive!! Poor woman...
ReplyDeleteCakes look good!
Yum for the cakes! They can banish any bad images from your mind :-)
ReplyDeleteThose fairy cakes look wonderful, v yummy!
ReplyDeleteI do wonder if the Madonna photo has been photoshopped to make her look worse, not saying she's not FAR too skinny, but just saying the Daily Mail may want to emphasize it and the veins!
Oh god, scary, Madonna Madonna Madonna, hmm...she is fifty right, does she need to be that fit?
ReplyDeleteXOXOX

yep FAT is good for you :)

She should never EVER allow herself short sleeve. I will never understand the point of exercising to make your body look like this.Very sad.
ReplyDeleteThose cakes look good - I really need to learn how to bake!
ReplyDeleteEverybodysaysdon't - gosh I hope they didn't enhance it with photoshop as that is mean! I don't think she deserves that.
ReplyDeleteYes, that's my fear - the press do like to be mean! Especially to slightly older successful women sadly...
ReplyDeleteHer arms don't even look real to me....kinda on the beef jerky side no?
ReplyDeletemiam looks delicious
ReplyDeleteYep, I am going with body dysmorphic disorder too. And as my father used to say the heaviest thing a lady should lift is a mixing bowl - so keep baking. Sooner be a Nigella than a madonna anyday. xx
