Fellow blogger The Small Fabric of my Life had challenged the fashion blogosphere to a capsule wardrobe challenge for the week. Once I've got new batteries in my new portable Sony digital camera I will photograph my choices properly.
The rules allow for 10 items from your wardrobe and 5 accessories - thankfully underwear and hosiery are unlimited.
I've chosen:
New black Reiss Lucia draped casual skirt
Black satin bustier Wallis dress (years old!)
Gap stripey long sleeve Breton top (2 years old)
Gap grey cashmere t-shirt (2 years old)
H&M white shirt (this season - £14.99)
H&M sequin leggings (this season - £12.99)
H&M tuxedo jacket (years old - best ever £30 spent)
new champagne Reiss shrug cardi
Tods black loafers (3 years old bought in Rome)
Black ankle boots (4 years old and still working them)
My new Toast bag
A purple scarf
Chunky gunmetal Topshop necklace
Green coin Topshop necklace
Navy blue patent belt
As my capsule wardrobe is lacking in colour I've added red to my nails to add a bit of drama.
Today I'm wearing my black skirt and grey cashmere top with the chunky necklace, red nails, bare legs and my Tods loafers. If it gets a bit chilly I'll throw on the shrug cardi.
Can;t wait to see youw earing the outfits. I love your choices.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could make a narrow selection like that...! Looking forward to seeing pictures though!
ReplyDeleteAnd on a sidenote, Chanel really makes the best nail polish. :)
Love the nail color. I think if I took on the wardrobe challenge I would just wear the same pair of black yoga pants every day.
ReplyDeleteSounds great! I wear a capsule wardrobe all the time; I prefer to have just a few good things that mix and match rather than a full wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun challenge! You KNOW I'd fail miserably at this one ... can't wait to see more of what you put together.
ReplyDeleteHi there-perfect choices, I too can't wait to see your outfits on! have a good week!
ReplyDeleteYou are going to have fun with this! And I can't wait to see everyones outfits.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea - sounds like a lot of planning is needed though. Loving the red nails too!
ReplyDeleteNice manicure! Reminds me that I desperately need one.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!! I would struggle choosing my items let alone how to put them together for a week.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the photos
So fun, darling! Great wardrobe choices!
ReplyDeleteLove that nail color too!

You've got great choices in your capsule wardrobe. I'm not going to join into this one, since I have to change my clothes three times a day.
ReplyDeleteBut have fun, everyone!
I want that nail polish. Ever since I tried the fancy stuff I'm all into it. I'll never go back to crap varnish!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun idea - I just don't think I could do it! I guess it forces you to think about your wardrobe differently though. Can't wait to see what you do!

ReplyDeleteYou're very brace to try the capsule wardrobe, I'm sure I could never manage.. Well maybe, but I would not be a happy girl. I like my choice- even if I do wear some things an awful lot!
ReplyDeleteLove that nail varnish colour!

Great items! I especially love that gap breton top, and it really suits you. Nails look great too! xx
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of the maternity wardrobe situation, esp. these days. And it's something of a relief to have little to chose from, and then making it different week-to-week.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your challenge! LOVE the red nails.
