Maxi, Midi, Mini - red legs

Red is my favourite colour. After losing eight months of my life reading, writing and filming about the red dress I took a break from red for a few months only to buy some red jeans from Topshop.

Then Isabel Marant made red trouser the thing of the year. Of course it isn't any old red trouser, the devil is in the detail and it must be cropped.

For the real deal and maxing the budget out the Soan cropped leather biker pant at Net-A-Porter for £1,490!

To go super smart then these Givenchy Virgin Wool cropped trousers at Matches are £485.

Thank goodness for Zara with their Studio straight leg trousers £59.99

  1. Dear Kate, red is my favourite colour too. The leather ones are absolutely stunning but they are the same price as a new Macbook Pro (with a discount) and I need a laptop more. I think I'll have to make do with a bit of red nail varnish! Have a good day, isn't it hideous out there? xx

  2. I just love those red leather pants ... so so much ..
But as my grandmother would always say.." You can want in one hand and spit in the other and see which you fill the first" ..
Oh I never realised quite how disgusting that thought is before xx

  3. The Givenchy ones are lovely, that bright tomato red is so cheery. Fear the leather ones would make me look like an over-stuffed bratwurst.

  4. Oh Kate I actually went in Zara yesterday in search of these red pants, they didnt have them so I had to buy lots of other stuff to make myself feel better LOL, hope they get them in soon I dont want to buy online as the sizes in Zara are so random! I do have a tomato red blouse so I might just make that my colour fix, I am still dubious as to how flattering having a big red butt will be ;-)

Re: the sweatshop documentary, I know this sounds daft but I just feel so betrayed by Topshop after all their ethical garb and didnt mind paying double the price of leggings than other places as I thought they werent being made in a sweatshop! I feel really offended!

  5. Red trousers remind me of something Tim Wonnacott from Bargain Hunt would wear and that's not a good look in my book. xxx

  14. I love red, but I don't often incorporate it into daily wear - might have to try the whole red trouser thing. Although I'll be looking for flares ;)

  15. I'm with Vix on this one I'm afraid. Red is wonderful but red trousers are inextricably linked in my brain with posh men in checked shirts and tweed. I work with too many of them for it to be otherwise.

The Zara pair are lovely but I just don't think I could bring myself to wear them. On anyone else though, beautiful.

  17. I adore red trousers - every girl should have one in her wardrobe.
The first is quite striking. I can imagine wearing it with a pretty top to a weekend brunch;-)
